The Genesis name has been on our roads in the USA since 2008.  However, it was branded as a Hyundai Genesis until around 2016 when Genesis was launched as it's own brand from car manufacturer Hyundai.   The South Korean auto manufacturer has been on a tear over the last decade building very attractive cars with tons of options, amazing warranty and quality, and very high customer satisfaction.  Throughout the 2010's, the Hyundai Genesis was the most luxurious Hyundai model and people took note.  They were offering a large amount of luxury and style at very attractive prices (aka low).  Hyundai noticed the consumer demand and launched the Genesis G90 in 2016 as their largest and most luxurious car model under it's new stand alone brand, Genesis.  They targeted the German luxury brands BMW and Mercedes starting with rear wheel drive performance sedans such as the Genesis G70, G80, and G90.  In recent years they are having a lot of success with their SUV lineup.  They started with the larger SUV model GV80 which did well but have hit a home run in the last few years with the smaller SUV the GV70.  The GV70 has given the BMW X3 and Audi Q5 some serious competition.  Genesis.  The South Koreans are serious players now in the USA automotive market and the Genesis luxury brand is here to stay.
